BASE Giveaway Night Feb/2011

In addition to enjoying a Colombian dish, empanadas, Puerto Rican-style pastries, tasty maracuyá (passion fruit) juice, and meeting interesting people, guests on this night entered into a free drawinf for:

a Semi-intensive BASE Spanish course ($384);
a Weekly BASE Spanish course ($198);
all-festival passes ($50 each)for BLIFF 2011, the 10th annual Boston Latino Film Festival;
anthologies of Latin American Literature in Spanish ($40 each)and 10% off coupons from Schoenhof's;
a $50 gift certificate from Diseño Boston (this item was displayed, but it actually slipped through the cracks in all the excitement, and it will be given away at the next giveaway event);
a Hugg-a-Planet globe in Spanish ($25);
tickets for a special event screening with film director Patricio Guzmán ($12 each) at the HFA;
all sorts of BASE paraphernalia: mood magnets in Spanish, biodegradable stress-relief globes, pens made of out of post-consumer recycled material.

Sophie was all smiles after winning the drawing for the free Semi-intensive course ($384 value)! Sophie will also be taking another Semi-intensive course having bartered for volunteering to answer phones for a public radio fund raiser.

To her pleasant surprise Bobbi won a free Weekly course ($198 value) that she has enjoyed after her vacation to South America.

Whereas Rebecca was hoping to win a free course (maybe next time!), she is excited for the 10th annual Boston Latino Film Festival. Rebecca won one of the BLIFF 2011 All-Festival passes ($50 value).

One of the lucky winners of the anthologies ($40 value) and discount cards from Schoenhof's was Janine. In addition to the delicious juice, winning this had Janine grinning from ear to ear.

Chris was disappointed that he didn't win a course, but he had the whole world in his hands having won a free Hugg-a-Planet globe ($25 value).

Sari was among those who unfortunately didn't win a free Spanish course, but we turned those frowns upside down by giving away fun BASE paraphernalia, like the mood magnet in Spanish Sari won.
