About the Course:
BASE Elective Course objective: Participants will gain valuable linguistic and cultural exposure. Elective courses serve as an opportunity to maintain, practice and perfect the use of the Spanish language. Through BASE's elective courses we aim to break paradigms in which language and culture are seperate and the former or the latter are optional as opposed to a requisite to the acquisition of either.
Go further and improve your Spanish learning the wonders and differences among cultures. In this course you’ll learn and recognize the different ways to approach a Hispanic patient, specific medical terms and how to handle cultural discrepancies. Whereas BASE recommends all beginner-level students to focus on general language skills before enrolling in a Spanish-for-Specific-Purposes course, BASE Spanish-for-Medical-Purposes courses have different levels, from introductory to conversational. When registering please complete BASE's general written Assessment with as much detail as possible.
