Mano a Mano: Arias in Dialogue is a one-hour concert program that places iconic European opera arias in dialogue with Spanish and Latin American counterparts—introducing classical Hispanic repertoire to new audiences. Through themes of identity, love, and community, the program draws connections between operatic classics and often-overlooked Latin American gems. This season features seven world premieres of newly arranged works by Laura Intravia, specially commissioned for this project by mezzo-soprano Fanny Lora, and performed with a Boston-based chamber ensemble. Each concert includes a brief post-performance discussion to foster cultural exchange and community dialogue across New England and beyond.
This project is part of Mano a Mano, a series created by mezzo-soprano Fanny Lora that explores how diverse musical traditions can walk alongside Hispanic classical music — uncovering shared ground where it isn't immediately apparent. At its heart, the series is a search for connection: a reminder that what seems different on the surface often carries a thread that binds us together in the most profound ways.
On March 3rd, 2026, Fanny Lora and the Mano a Mano Ensemble performed at the Massachusetts State House as part of Creative Advocacy Day and where presented with an official Citation of Congratulations for being selected to perform and for their continued work in the arts.
