Every summer thousands of people of all ages and abilities come together for a free and popular outdoor summer event series that includes social dancing, performances, dance lessons and training programs, theater and performance workshops, Latin dance programming for elders of the community and a comprehensive youth employment program. 


It is the 12th summer of Salsa In The Park (SITP)! A free and popular outdoor summer series for all ages, backgrounds and abilities, Metamovements Latin Dance CompanySalsa In The Park (SITP) is an innovative community engagement project in partnership with Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) Blackstone Community Center that transforms public space for public benefit through music, dance and education. A public health initiative, featuring movement as a key to wellness, it draws hundreds of people from all walks of life every summer on Monday evenings for: 

**Space for Social Dancing all night long
**Weekly performances featuring professional, amateur and youth performers showcasing a variety of cultures and genres
**FREE 30 minute multi-level Latin dance lessons (Salsa, Bachata and Rueda De Casino)

Salsa In The Park Mondays is just the tip of the iceberg of MetaMovements' Community Programs during the summer months. We are super grateful for partial funding and support through weekly donations at the event as well as support from our volunteers, BCYF Blackstone Community Center, Mayor's Office of Arts & Culture Boston's Boston Cultural Council (a program of the Mass Cultural Council); the Boston Public Health Commission's Summer Fitness Series; John Hancock's MLK Scholars Nonprofit Partners program; Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program (Cambridge), to name a few...
