Boston Children's Chorus—In the Name of Love: 21st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute Concert

  • Boston Symphony Symphony Hall 301 Massachusetts Avenue Boston, MA, 02115 United States (map)

Throughout history, movements for equality across marginalized communities have mimicked each other, sharing the same essential goals. Boston Children’s Chorus takes the stage at Symphony Hall to raise the voices of civil rights activists including Coretta Scott King and Bayard Rustin, who developed the blueprint for modern day activists. The fight for love is ongoing. Love’s victory is a victory for us all.

Wisdom. Courage. Power.

In 1951, M. L. King, Jr. arrived in Boston, MA to study philosophy and ethics. Here he studied, was mentored, and led crowds of people in marches for freedom. Here, he became Dr. King. Join the singers of Boston Children’s Chorus reflect on Dr. King’s life, his formative years and transformation into the most recognized Civil Rights icon.
