Set against the vibrant backdrop of Havana, Cubamor is a contemporary story of two couples who fall in love across the American and Cuban political, historical, and social divide. Guided and sometimes challenged by the island’s spiritual forces, they navigate questions of identity, connection, and belonging through the rhythms of Cuba itself. With an energetic blend of traditional Cuban music and hip hop, this staged reading of Cubamor invites audiences to experience the pulse of a culture where passion, history, and the power of love collide.
Content Advisory:
Cubamor contains mature themes involving romance, spirituality, and cross-cultural relationships, as well as brief mild language and references to alcohol. The story explores political and racial dynamics between Cuba and the U.S. through both realism and Afro-Cuban spiritual traditions.
