Louis D. Rivera Gotay, a young composer and trombonist from Carolina, Puerto Rico, presents his senior jazz composition recital at Berklee College of Music. Featuring original compositions and original arrangements, the program invites the audience on a musical journey to Puerto Rico. Rivera Gotay blends his cultural heritage with the language of jazz, showcasing traditional Puerto Rican styles such as plena, aguinaldos, bomba, danza, and more. The music is brought to life through a big band performance celebrating the fusion of Puerto Rican traditions with contemporary jazz.
