In May of 2020, a standoff between a small-town sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) and mayor (Pedro Pascal) sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor in Eddington, New Mexico.

“Eddington” is a documentary screening at IFFBoston that explores the legacy of a mysterious Cuban-born intellectual whose life touches on exile, memory, and identity. Set against a rich cultural and political backdrop, the film weaves archival material and interviews into a reflective, cinematic portrait.
